The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) provides access to a range of fixed income securities from local and international issuers. Through its vast network of Dealing Member Firms and an integrated trading platform, NSE provides institutional and retail investors access to one of the most liquid bond markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Retail Bond Trading Platform of The NSE also avails retail investors efficient and transparent access to an on-screen secondary market in listed debt instruments. The introduction of this fixed-income trading platform is in response to growing demand from retail investors for portfolio diversification from traditional equities; as investors can now add debt instruments in smaller volumes to their portfolios.
Bonds are debt securities that are issued to lenders of long term loans. It is basically an ‘’IOU’’ issued by one party to another.
